Senior Accountant / Client Relationship Manager - Remote (UK)
The Firm:
A fast-growing, innovative independent chartered accountancy practice working with a focused client base of forward-thinking professionals, mainly in the medical and dental sectors.
The Role:
We are looking for a qualified ACA/ACCA accountant to join our vibrant team as a Senior Accountant / Client Relationship Manager.
You will take ownership of a portfolio of clients, acting as their main point of contact and handling their accounting affairs and day-to-day queries with the support of a highly experienced senior team.
This is a client-facing role for someone who enjoys building long-term relationships, giving strategic guidance, and wants to grow within a firm that invests heavily in its people.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage a portfolio of SME clients, primarily in the healthcare sector.

Act as the go-to contact for all client queries, delivering clear and timely advice.

Prepare and submit year-end accounts for Ltd companies, partnerships and sole traders.

Prepare and submit corporation tax, partnership tax and personal tax returns.

Prepare VAT returns for a select group of clients.

Create and present quarterly or monthly management packs, offering insight and strategic commentary for a select group of clients.

Maintain a high standard of technical accuracy and compliance with HMRC and Companies House.

Work collaboratively with junior and senior colleagues to ensure timely delivery and knowledge sharing.

Provide mentoring and training support to junior members of the team.

Attend quarterly in-person meetups to strengthen team cohesion and contribute to continuous improvement.
Must-haves:
-
ACA/ACCA qualified.

Minimum 3 years' practice experience in the UK.

Strong knowledge of UK accounting and tax principles.

Proficiency with accounting software such as FreeAgent, Xero or similar.

Excellent client communication and relationship-building skills.

Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently.

Passion for mentoring junior staff and continuous development.
Nice-to-haves:

Experience working with healthcare professionals, desirable but not essential.

Familiarity with creating management accounts.

Strong commercial awareness and ability to offer advisory-level input.
