Placement of Corporate Tax Senior at a Top10 firm in

Yorkshire

Hadley Whiting

Founder

In the studio

Overview:

We reached out to the candidate via LinkedIn while acting on behalf of one of our clients, a Top10 firm in the UK with an office in the Yorkshire area. Our client was looking to grow their Corporate Tax function with an ACA/CTA Senior Associate. The role would naturally lead into an Assistant Manager role once qualified with a bias towards Advisory.

Outcome:

The candidate was working at an independent firm at the time but had ambitions of stepping up to a larger firm to diversify their experience and exposure to more complex clients. They had an initial first-stage interview in their office, which took place with the Corporate Tax Partner and Office Managing Partner. During the interview process, it became apparent that it was a good fit, and a competitive offer was made within the week.

Review:

"Hadley was extremely helpful in assisting me throughout the recruitment process - from applying for the role, all the way to securing the position. He was always prompt in responding and polite, which allowed me to make informed decisions on what next steps I wanted to take. I would definitely recommend him to anyone thinking about their career options."

Job Brief:

As a Senior in our Corporate Tax department, you will work as part of a team advising a wide range of clients in relation to their ongoing and strategic objectives and assisting with complex corporation tax compliance. Ad hoc duties will arise in supporting the local tax partner and directors as necessary. You will have strong experience working within practice and exposure to the essential elements of client service and delivery. You will be keen to develop further and continue your professional development.

To enhance your own personal development, you will have the opportunity to lead, manage, motivate, and coach other members of the team, so supervisory experience would be a distinct advantage. You will be working with a great team of like-minded colleagues all focused on supporting each other to perform at their best.

In terms of qualifications, we want to ensure we are offering the best service to our customers, so an accountancy qualification such as ATT, ACA, or CTA is desirable for this role, and study support is available. We will provide you with ongoing mentoring and coaching as you continue to develop personally. The successful appointment will have a collaborative outlook with a dynamic approach to management.
