A well-respected, forward-thinking accountancy practice in Leicester is building something new: a growing, tech-powered outsourcing and virtual finance function. They’re already delivering bookkeeping and management accounts to a loyal client base - but the ambition is bigger. Much bigger.

They want to scale. Sharpen. Modernise. And they need someone with the experience and vision to lead that charge.

Here’s the picture:
Right now, the outsourcing team sits at four strong. Talented people, solid processes - but limited by time and capacity. That’s where you come in. As the new lead for this function, you’ll take the reins on people, process, and progress. Day-to-day, you’ll be guiding the team, reviewing workflows, ensuring timely delivery to clients, and most importantly - being client-facing. You’ll bring the numbers to life in conversations that matter.

But here’s where it gets interesting…

This role isn’t just about running the machine - it’s about rebuilding it.
You’ll be at the heart of a digital transformation journey. Clients need more than compliance - they need efficiencies. Whether it’s app advisory, stock control integrations, or automation in Xero, you’ll be the one helping clients understand what’s possible and how to get there. You won’t be alone—there’s support, CPD, training courses, and the backing of a larger group that’s investing heavily in tech and AI. But the direction? That’s yours to set.

And if you do it right? In 12 months, you’ll be growing the team again—layering in more people beneath you, building structure, and expanding your leadership scope.

Here’s what they’re looking for:

• 5+ years post-qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or QBE)
  
  
• Strong hands-on management accounts and client-facing experience
  
  
• Confident leading teams, overseeing delivery, and improving systems
  
  
• Passion for tech, AI, app integrations, and real operational improvement
  
  
• Comfortable training and coaching junior staff as the team grows
  
  
• Based within reach of Leicester and happy to be office-present 3+ days/week
  
  
• Full UK driving licence (client meetings will form part of the role)

Salary: £40–50k depending on experience
Hybrid Working: Up to 2 days from home per week (non-contractual)
Location: Leicester-based
Progression: The more you scale the function, the more scope opens up above you
