Transactions Services Executive

Role Overview

An excellent opportunity for an Audit Senior looking to move into advisory. This Top 100 firm’s Southampton Transaction Services team is seeking a qualified accountant to join at Executive level, supporting financial due diligence engagements for corporate and private equity clients. No prior TS experience is required — full training and support will be provided to help you transition your audit skillset into deal advisory work.

Key Responsibilities

• Support financial due diligence engagements across buy-side and sell-side transactions, working alongside experienced TS managers and partners

• Analyse target company financial information, including quality of earnings, working capital, net debt, and historical trading trends

• Prepare data books, analytical schedules, and financial models to support due diligence conclusions

• Draft sections of due diligence reports under manager review, learning how audit-style findings translate into deal-relevant insights

• Liaise with target company management and client teams, and coordinate with legal, tax, and commercial advisers

• Support data room reviews and manage information requests

• Work across multiple client engagements simultaneously, adapting to the faster pace and tighter deadlines of transaction work (compared with the audit cycle)

• Receive structured on-the-job training and mentoring as you build deal experience

Person Specification

Essential:

• ACA / ICAEW qualified with first-time passes

• Solid audit background, ideally at Senior level, within a Top 100 or similar firm

• Strong technical accounting knowledge and confidence analysing statutory accounts and management information

• Good Excel skills, with a willingness to develop financial modelling capability

• Strong report writing and communication skills

• Commercially curious, with a genuine interest in moving beyond audit into deal-driven advisory work

• Comfortable working to tight, transaction-led deadlines

Not required (but helpful):

• Prior transaction services or corporate finance experience

• Financial modelling experience
