Most Transaction Services roles are backfills.

Someone left. There's a gap. You're the person who fills it - joining a team that already exists, learning how they already do things, finding your place in a structure built long before you turned up.

This one isn't that.

A Partner is building a new TS team. He's won and delivered this work for years, he knows how it's done, and he's now doing it under his own steam. He wants one person to build it with him - the first hire, at Manager or Senior Manager level.

First hire means what it says. You'd be on live mandates with him from day one. Not shadowing. Not waiting your turn. Working directly alongside the person setting the direction.

For most people, the right time to join a team is once it's established and safe. For the right person, that's exactly the wrong time - because by then the interesting part is done. The ground floor is only available once.

Who it suits: an experianced Asssitant Manager, Manager or Senior Manager from a TS background, a few years of FDD behind you, ACA qualified, Southampton-based or genuinely commutable.

Who it doesn't: anyone who wants a Big4 ot Top10 brand over the door and a lane already marked out. That's a good career. It just isn't this one.
